Tampa – A Contemporary and Historical Center of Florida

Tampa is one of the pearls in the crown of the Sunshine state.

Located on the West coast of Florida, it is one of the most popular vacation spots in the USA.

Many consider it a top world destination that reveals the brilliance of Florida.

Besides the crystal-clear water and the sunny days on the beaches, you can also take an interesting tour around Tampa’s sights.

One of the architectural landmarks of Tampa is the Bay Hotel built in the late 19th century.

It is an excellent example of Moorish-Renaissance style.

The construction is nearly half a kilometer long and features 500 rooms.

The architecture of the coastal city is a successful mixture of many styles.

The details of Moorish, Art Deco and Post-modernism styles unite to create a unique cityscape.

A great example of Post-modernism is the Museum of Art.

It is located near the Hillsborough River and preserves many ancient Greek and Roman artifacts as well as sculptures, photographs, and paintings.

The theater of Tampa is also a good place to visit and entertain yourself.

The building is constructed in the Art Deco style.

Tampa is known for its numerous skyscrapers; the only rival in Florida can be Miami.

The tallest building in Tampa is 100 North Tampa. Don’t miss the Sulphur Springs Water Tower, which is another landmark of Tampa.

The Sulphur Springs is located near the tower.

In downtown Tampa, you will discover one of the best aquariums in the US.

The Florida Aquarium offers not only watching various species, but you can also swim with some of them, and play with penguins and dolphins, so your visit there will be memorable.

Near Tampa Bay, Busch Gardens is the biggest draw. It’s a place you just have to see.

It represents the colorful life and animals of Africa.

The natural park offers awesome experiences for visitors – you can see and touch many animals, go on a safari, take a speed train and so much more.

You simply cannot miss the Channel side, which is the beating heart of entertainment in Tampa. Everything you could possibly desire can be found around here.

The major historical district is the Ybor City neighborhood, which now hosts some of the best nightclubs in Tampa. In the late 19th century many immigrants from Cuba, Spain, and Italy settled in Ybor City.

While walking around, visit the Ybor City State Museum, the Ybor City Cigar Museum, and go on the Ybor City Art Walk.

The famous market happens every Saturday offering local produce from food to art.

If you seek a connection with nature and extreme outdoor activities go to Hillsborough River State Park.

There you can camp, canoe, fish, and picnic.

When you are about to leave Tampa, visit the Tampa Convention Center just to see the incredible view towards the city one last time.
